Broadford Southern Classic

Classic Motorcycle Club Victoria Video. The Southern Classic was at Broadford on 24th-25th October. The event is conducted by The Historic Motorcycle Racing Association of Victoria. HMRAV was established in 1979 by a group of vintage racing enthusiasts. Since then, they have been promoting and organizing vintage motorcycling racing events throughout Victoria and are held at track locations including: Winton, Broadford, Phillip Island, as well as a couple of hill climb circuits. A Richard Haughton production. Classic racing solo and sidecar machines, such as Norton, Triumph, AJS, Ducati, Arial, BSA, Vincent, Benelli are among a long list of brands participating at this years Southern Classic.

PART ONE (1/3) Part 1 www.youtube.com Part 2 www.youtube.com Part 3 www.youtube.com RIP Lous van Rijswijk (Rider died during race) -ROCKANJE – Oud-Grand Prix-coureur Lous van Rijswijk (65) is zaterdagmiddag in het harnas gestorven. Tijdens het evenement Rockanje Classic voor historische motoren werd de oud-kampioen uit Rijswijk in de tweede ronde van de eerste race onwel. Hij stopte, zette zijn Yamahamotor langs de kant en viel erna op de grond. In de ambulance op weg naar het ziekenhuis overleed hij. De organisatoren besloten na overleg met de coureurs uit de overige klasses, Van Rijswijks familie en burgemeester Peter de Jong van Westvoorne één minuut stilte in acht te nemen en erna de wedstrijd te hervatten. Wel kreeg het vervolg een soberder karakter. Volgens ingewijden had Van Rijswijk vrijdag last van zijn hart. Ook zaterdagochtend voelde hij zich niet lekker, maar startte toch. De Rijswijker was er in 1959 ook bij in Rockanje toen in het baddorp voor het eerst een motorrace werd georganiseerd, ter afwisseling van de jaarlijkse wielerwedstrijden.. Opvallend is dat de coureur op identieke wijze is overleden als zijn legendarische vader Lous sr.. Darling Buds Classic Car Show

The Darling Buds Classic Car Show is an annual charitable event presented by the Rover P5 Alive Club and will be held on Sunday 11th July, 2010 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm at Buss Farm, which can be found just off the Pluckley Road in Bethersden, near Ashford in the heart of Kent. All pre-1980 makes and models of classic cars, their owners, enthusiasts and members of the public are cordially invited to a “perfick” family day out with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The venue has ample public car parking and gates open at 9.00 am. The 2009 show attracted nearly 1000 classic vehicles, making it one of Kent’s most popular annual events. This exclusive location was used in the making of Yorkshire Television`s well-known series “The Darling Buds of May” and is the only time that the farm is open to the public. This year`s show will include Pop Larkin`s yellow Rolls Royce and blue Chevrolet truck, birds of prey flying display, childrens` rides, live music, autojumble and craft stalls, food for all tastes, a visit by the Kent Air Ambulance helicopter (operational circumstances permitting), plus a licensed bar. Throughout the day there will be arena displays of exhibitors` vehicles, with a live commentary. Exhibitors` entry fee is just £3.00 for pre-booked classic cars or £7.00 on the day.
